Our Story

Nestled at the foot of our majestic mountains, in the leafy suburb of Newlands, Cape Town, Foresters Arms Restaurant and Pub (fondly referred to by the locals as Forries), is one of the oldest pubs in South Africa and provides the perfect retreat from the hustle and bustle of city life. Its welcoming ambiance provides guests with the opportunity to sit down, relax and enjoy a fine draught beer accompanied by a delicious meal selected from our varied gastro-pub menu.

    Forries is fully licensed and in addition to a large range of draught beers, excellent wines and cocktails, also boasts a Whiskey bar with the finest selection of Scottish & Irish whiskeys.
  • Fabulous Functions
    By nature of its positioning and warm atmosphere, Forries is a superb functions venue. Parties as small as 10 or as large as 200 are hosted with fantastic quality food and attentive service.
  • Draught Beers
    Foresters Arms is privileged to be able to offer a selection of 11 on-tap draughts. These range from our local range of excellent South African beers to a discerning selection of imported beers.
  • Kings Table
    The KING’S TABLE is a unique way to celebrate a birthday or special occasion. Gather your friends around a café table which has a pouring tap, houses a 50 L keg of beer, and allows you to tap your own glasses of any SAB beer.
